In the morning, after an indulgent evening of eating, I went to check out the hotel gym.

The hotel staff had been into the room for turn down service while we were out, so I had another sweet treat before bed.

It’s a pretty cool concept, as it means the cuisine changes all the time - and you never really know what you’re going to get.Īfterwards, it was time to head back and jump in a bubble bath - and with a TV screen in front of me, I was able to watch some Glastonbury while soaking. We also sampled some of the food from the new menu - and I’ll definitely be back for the Cubanito sandwich.įor proper dinner (though we were already a bit full), we headed down the road to Carousel, which welcomes a new chef every few weeks. This little beauty was the Guantanamera, made with avocado-infused gin. The cocktails from the Casa de Cuba menu were delicious (though pricey, it’s worth noting). While it may be an ode to Sir Winston Churchill and his beloved wife Clementine, this is not a stuffy bar - it’s seasonally themed, and was very tropical when we made our pit stop. We checked out the varied room service menu, but thanks to the range of restaurants and bars in the area, ended up eating out most of the weekend.įirst up on Friday night was a visit to The Churchill Bar and Terrace nearby. Though our room was a bit dark due to being underground, this was made up for by the fact that the living room opened to a private terrace.Ĭool artwork and furniture made this the perfect spot to sip a morning coffee - and space heaters meant you could sit out at night, too.

Oh, and no hotel suite is complete without fluffy, white robes. The waterfall shower was pretty luxurious, too. There was a gorgeous bath, and enough counter space to properly settle in for the weekend. The best room in the suite was the bathroom, by far. The closet, which lit up when you opened it, gave me some ideas for my own wardrobe at home. The bedroom TV was nice to flick on while lounging in bed in the mornings. On the bedroom desk we found hotel directories and a menu for the restaurant, Hunter 486. I always sleep better in hotel beds, and this one was no exception. It would have made for a good work space, but that wasn’t what we were there for. The suite had a spacious living area, with a good sized TV and plenty of books… My eye was also quickly drawn to the Nespresso machine and adorable teapot arranged on a beautifully designed drinks trolley. The first thing I noticed was this dreamy red lounge chair - the ultimate glamorous reading spot.Īll it was missing was a bucket of Champagne on the table beside it, and the image would have been complete. We were greeted by the friendly staff at the hotel, who gave us fruit-infused water to sip on when we checked in - though the room was already paid for, thanks to booking with Suiteness.ĭown a few winding hallways and staircases, we were led to the Juniper Suite - our home for the weekend. While a suite is ideal when you’re travelling with a group, it’s also perfect when you want that extra space to kick back for a weekend. The stay was booked through Suiteness, a booking site which specialises in hotel suites and connecting rooms. The Arch and its pillared entrance and doormen (who apparently weren’t there when I took this photo) fit in well. If you’re not familiar with Marylebone, the streets look a lot like this - ideal on a sunny day, they’re lined with trees, brown and red brick buildings, and plenty of flowers peeking out of windows. Last weekend, we spent Friday to Sunday at The Arch, a charming boutique hotel right near Marble Arch and Marylebone, one of my favourite neighbourhoods in the city. No matter where you live, it’s important to take a little break from “home” from time to time - especially when life becomes just a little too routine.įor me, there’s always been something comforting, relaxing, and luxurious about staying in a hotel - so why should you have to wait until you’re on holiday to book yourself into a cosy suite?Įnter the “Staycation” - the exact solution to needing a bit of a treat and a break from the norm, but not wanting to venture too far (or not having the time to).
